Before the MiG 15 came to fame battling Messerschmitts over the Danube River, the MiG 14 was fighting pirates in the Great Mongolian Sea.

Developed by MiG to use the newly available RR Nene engine, the Mig 14 was a significant improvement over the early Mig 9 and was put into production. Only about 500 units were produced before the new swept wing Mig 15 was ready for production. It was roughly in the same class, performance, and mission as the early USAF F-84 and the French Dassault Ouragon.

This was built for the MIG Group Build at BTS. It is made from an old Airfix Mig 15 and the wings and horizontal tail from an odd scale snap together toy P-51. The wing is about 20% bigger than 1/72 scale, so it fit the Mig fuselage perfectly.

We don't just embrace insanity here.  We feel it up, french kiss it and then buy it a drink.

Nice man!! Never thought I'd say this.. but I LIKE how "stubby" it is...    Straight wing is cool and the tanks are cool, too.    By golly, it looks like a nicely rolled blunt, as well.  👌👍👏👏👏

Nice one Ed.

I LOVE the NATO codename for it too, I'm amazed they didn't use that for real!  ;D ;)
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Good! Marrying MiG and P-51, in love and having children together, would have been better than making the Korean war ;D
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

Nice! I've also already thought about a straight-wing MiG-15, but would never have considered P-51 wings (my preferrence would be either Magister or Ouragan wings)! Too bad that the landing gear is retracted.
Great idea and execution, and I like the Mongolian Zoyombo markings a lot. I might steal this idea...  ;)

Nice one Ed, particularly like the scheme
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

What a great combo.  I love it.
Thanks!
