Interesting Youtube video about Alexander Weygers, a polymath Dutch-American artist who is best known as a sculptor, painter, print maker, blacksmith, carpenter, philosopher, Aerospace engineer and author. He designed a 'flying saucer' in the 1920s and promoted it widely to the US armed forces and aerospace industry, eventually receiving a patent for it in 1944. The timing seems significant, since the modern wave of UFO sightings began a few years later, and Weygers was convinced that his design had been stolen.
