Southern Expo 2019, 16th/17th March, Hornchurch Sports Centre, Hornchurch.

I know we don't have a stand there, but it's one a couple of us tend to meet up with and share a mug of tea. Just hope the weather's a bit kinder this year. Nearly got snowed in last year.

Had a bit of a shock this morning when I realised my passport needs renewing this year. Luckily it won't need to go off until the end of March so I should be able to get across the Essex border o.k. Once you get past Ilford it's Cowboy Country

I've just tried to do the same thing with the all-new on-line system. No matter HOW many times I tried modifying my self-taken digital passport photo they won't accept it.  :banghead:

I suspect it's yet another 'business lead' scheme by the photo-booth people and photographers to ensure that you HAVE to go to them to get an acceptable pic.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Nick

I have that weekend off so I should be there at least one of those days.

For a while there it was Injun Country but now its a hotbed of Balkan Mafia gangs...no joke after dark. Stabbings etc a very regular event.

Haven't re entered the modelling hobby so far but might be tempted to head up to Hornchurch in March. Renovating the house at present with the possible plan of a move to Gidea Park soon.

Renovating the house not only takes up time it also tends to consume 3 times as much cash as originally thought  :banghead:

It looks as though the "improvement" works being carried out to the lines out to Ilford way are still going on ! So second year running I'll need to find my way down on the District Line by the look of it. No great problem, just takes far longer  :-\

Spent a nice couple of hours wandering around the show, spent some money and caught up with Mike M and Young Nick. Was absolutely knackered when I got home after battling through the park in what were storm force very blustery winds. Rather than a mile from the station made it seem like 2  :banghead:

For those in the UK the sports centre where the show is held is on the edge of the park where the young girl was stabbed recently and to say the whole area is covered in purple ribbons is putting it mildly. Quite moving even for an old so and so like me.
