Wider tyres will reach out to the bodywork and you can bridge the gap between the GT40 chassis and the van shell with styrene sheet.  Use the front half of the van chassis including it's suspension.

Sorted.

;D

It's quite surprising just how much wider the Transit shell is though, and the Supavans had VERY wide 'Cologne' arches as well. I suspect they didn't really use much of the GT40 bits bar the engine and transmission actually.

Bridging the gap between the GT40 chassis and the Transit body was never a problem, it's making the suspension arms that much longer that's going to tax me. I may have some wider wheels/tyres in The Loft and I'll have a look see on Monday.

Much wailing and gnashing of teeth was heard from the ranks of kit collectors,
and cries of "Blasphemer, blasphemer stone him", "stoning's too mild, draw
and quarter the knave!".
;D

Hehehe, exactly my thoughts too, but it's a Testor's re-pop really, and the box is total rubbish.

As an aside, I found I also have one of the Testors re-popped Cougar II kits too, and I can't remember buying that at all!

My JPS Team plans have come to a grinding halt I'm afraid. :(

I was a tad optimistic about having lots of spare time for the project over the Christmas season and I didn't take into account the vast number of 'You must come over and see us, we haven't seen you since Mary's funeral' requests I've had. As a result I've spent a lot of time driving around visiting people. I'll be away from home all of next week doing the same thing too, and the bit between Christmas and New Year is never good for modelling at the best of times, and I have a wedding to go to in York then too.  :banghead: :banghead:

I may concentrate on the Midget Mustang, it's only small after all, and one of the cars, probably the dragster.

While priming and painting my JPS Blanik I thought 'Why not do the trailer as well?'

It's been sitting there in bare styrene for some weeks now, so I did. It's all primed now and looks a lot better for it too. I may get some black paint on the outside of it next week too. Then the outside will need to be masked up before painting the interior silver, but it'll need a LOT of masking tape!  :o

Chris, could you move this thread out of the Racing GB and put it somewhere else please? I've NO chance of doing anything meaningful on it by the time the GB ends now.

NARSES2

I'll move it to "Current and Finished ; Figures, Cars etc" Kit
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Thank you kindly Chris.

It's definitely 'Current', but I expect it'll be a while before it's 'Finished'...........  ;D
