Do you think they'd allow a scalpel and solvents in a pub?

I know pubs in Glasgow and Leith where they don't let you in unless you have solvents and a blade

Reminds of a bar I went to when I was younger.  When I headed in, the bouncer asked if I was carrying any guns, knives, saps, or other weapons.  When I said no, he started ruffling through this large cardboard box and said " I'll see what I can do for you".  I asked him if there was any cover, and he said "We usually just duck under the tables"
