Although, you should have had it up on scale cinder blocks in these shots.

Hehehe, nice one.

It was a bit of a pain getting the wheels to stay on, so it may REALLY have ended up like that!

Beautiful!
Did you screw/glue/fix somewhat the car to the base, to avoid unpleasant accidents during handling?
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

I did the same as I did with the Caterham, I drilled holes in the base and inserted short 1mm wire pins that stuck up about 4-5 mm, and then drilled larger holes in the tyres to accept the pins. Because the rubber needs larger holes as it contracts after drilling, it grips the pins and the model stays on the base, usually...........

Well that didn't work worth a damn as the Revell kit's rubber tyres are far too soft for the pins to grip, so onto Plan B.  :banghead:

I drilled larger holes in the base and countersunk the undersides and then put two larger countersunk self-tappers through and screwed them into the tyres! It worked pretty well until the self-tappers hit up against the hubs, so I drilled them as well!  ;D

Now you can hold the base upside with the Mustang hanging from it, not that I'll recommend it for display purposes!  :-\

The presentation's on Thursday evening and I hope to get a couple of pics then.

That came out really nicely!

Oh sorry, I forgot to post the presentation pics.

First the un-veiling......

And then the close investigation.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
