Love the idea of turning the Skyhawk into a fighter, did it with an Alternate Universe/Whiff country, a few times. What is that nose for your F.2?

It's a spare one from a 1/72 Matchbox Meteor NF.  After I did it, I realised I had a few spare Sea Harrier FA.2 noses that would have worked better.

Well done - those look great. There's something hauntingly familiar about the first one though...  ;D

Airfix 1/72nd A-4B/P with an A-4C nose conversion and a Red Beard, both from Freightdog (the Red Beard was intended as a Buccaneer accessory)

When I had the idea for this, I googled it and yours came up.....I decided not to use the wing tanks as mine was designed for the smaller fleet carriers, so take off weigh is being kept to a minimum. Also, they'd have to be jettisoned before tossing the bomb anyway.

Interesting.  It would be easier to view the images if you limited their size when posting by adding "width=800" to the first [img] tag.

I have no idea how to do that

When you are placing the link to your photos in your post, edit the first [img] tag to be [img width=800].

Done...thanks

That'd be a "no", mate, & the only A4-E(or F/G) I can find readily available in 1/72 on line is the HobbyBoss one at $52.50 from BNA Models, & I have no idea how accurate that kit is.
The old ESCI A-4E/F has a separate "hump" and usually does no sell at such outrageous prices. In fact, some boxings of this omit the extra sprue with the hump and things under the wings altogether.

Actually, Ed Heinemann designed a neat little aircraft (just don't tell FAAMAN I said that ;)).

You'll notice the differences here, I think;

A-4B

A-4G

The A-4G has a different engine, longer, pointier nose, kinked IFR probe, 2 more wing hard-points & a couple of extra antenna fins

So, basically a different nose then, from the panel line forward from the cockpit?

The intakes are different too, with boundary layer splitters on the G, presumably because of the larger engine.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yep:

-Bs and derivatives: J-65 engine (Sapphire), no intake splitter plates

-Es and derivatives: J-52 engine, intake splitter plates

I've always thought it's a neat, attractive aircraft. Up for the job as well
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

I agree - there's something 'right' about it, isn't there?

It's certainly seen plenty of action: Vietnam, Yom Kippur, Falklands. The only criticism I've heard is from American pilots, some of whom thought it wasn't very damage-resistant, i.e. one-hit-and-you're-gone. However I suspect that that's common to any small warplane, not just the Skyhawk, and is only apparent in an air force that also includes things like Phantoms and Thuds.
