Many moons ago I posted the story of the Flunker: https://www.whatifmodellers.com//index.php/topic,22232.0/highlight,flunker.html, and in the write-up I mentioned the atrocious pilot figure in the kit. Well, I just found it in my spares bin, but what sort of spare I could use it for is unfathomable. Here are the pictures, view at your own risk.

That's one streamlined pilot!

Would be marching to the beat of his own drum, if he didn't detest marching to any drumbeat at all so much.

Holy Ghost - he's a bit poker faced as well

Wow, that's one worthless chunk of plastic!

Reminds me of an Ancient Egyptian (maybe even earlier ?) grave goods ? Possibly something for the children to play with on the way to Paradise ?

Bury it in the back garden and leave it to be rediscovered in 2,000 years or so. Kick a whole new school of thought off about how the "early Atomiconians" lived and worshipped  ;)

Reminds me of the semi-ronde or semi-flat (both terms are used) toy soldiers/military miniatures.

Very collectable back in the day and still used by some Wargammer's in the 60's. Was one of the major producers Solido ? Strangely German flat figures were easier to obtain in the U.K. and they were difficult enough

In want of hobby space!  The kitchen table is never stable.  Still managing to get some building done.

I just bought  a Lindberg XF-91 Thunderceptor - it has EXACTLY the same pilot figure.

Okay, so we can blame Lindberg then. I wasn't sure about the pilot, but I know that the cheap Russian model I bought was originally a Lindberg product. I thought maybe the Russians had added their own touch, but you've just put that to rest. Thanks!
