At the end of the second world war,  British troops  captured  drawings  and jigs etc for the Arado E555 Amerika bomber,  said items were taken  back to the UK and given  a good coat of looking  at. One  proposed use for said aircraft  was to use it to carry a freefall  nuclear bomb.  British  jet engine  design  by the early  50's had come  on far enough  to give the aircraft  enough  speed and reliability to  get it deep enough  in to Russia  to deliver  its payload,  from either West Germany  Greenland  or the U.K. some  if not  all of the glazing  would need to be replaced  with a conventional  cockpit  and a radar thus changing the  overall look of  the front,  and all defensive  armament  removed.  Also I  think anti flash white  would suit.  Although  a lot smaller than the Vulcan Valiant  and Victor,  it could make  a viable  stop gap nuclear deterrent  until the V bombers  came in to service.

When does "old enough to know better" kick in?

I like the concept of '......a good coat of looking at........'  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

They are just physical manifestations of collisions between enigma & conundrum particles.

Javelin nose cone, sea vixen off set style cockpit and Meteor style intakes in the wings?
Bin the over the wing 6 engines...
thats what i have planned for my mine.
heaven knows when that will occur

Keith
The British have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved". Soon though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross". Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the Blitz in 1940 when tea supplies ran out for three weeks

That's a  marvellous idea  Keith,  I have an  IL-28 front end thT could be  grafted on,  leave off the  nose glazing and paint  over the rear two thirds of the  canopy , so it looks  similar to the one fitted to the Vulcan.

It would certainly suit anti-flash white and toned down roundels

Haha, it's  all in my head which  probably explains why I  can't  get to sleep  at night  and my head is well and truly  stuck in my derrier. :-\

Excellent idea. I hacked one of these Revell kits to produce a developed a/c to be a predecessor to the Northrop YB-49. Sadly the model did not survive as the unobtainium alloys are a git to work with. [which really means I got fed up with repairing it]. Some 1/48 B-57 engine intakes and the rear fuselage of a gutless cutlass were grafted in and the wing shape altered. model had early USAAF ETO B-17 markings.

Write it down mate. I'm lucky in that if I write something down it gets embedded in my memory as well. Why I was good at exams  ;)
