My 1st post, thought I would introduce myself by joining in on this GB with the following proposal;

MDD F-4J Phantom II
Yekîneyên Parastina Gel (YPG)

Even though the F-4J has been retired for some years, a small number were still available either from storage or through private ownership1,2

According to local sources the F-4J was originally purchased by the YPG in 2012 through a third party (most likely one of the same Iran uses to acquire parts for their F-4's) 3. The aircraft flew several vital missions over Aleppo before being transferred to the YPJ in late 2013, were it was used extensively and effectively in the third phase of the first battle of Ras al-Ayn4.

After the success of the battle for Ras al-Ayn the F-4 was transferred back to the YPG. The Phantom was flown in several key battles throughout 2014 including over Iraq, where it was used against IS targets in the Diyala governate.

Then in 2015 the F-4 returned to Aleppo joining coalition air units in attacking IS targets in Kobane5. Unfortunately, this was to be the last time the F-4 was flown. With Turkish attacks on Kurdish groups in Northern Syria (2015-Present day), the YPG decided to ground the Phantom and have kept it at Erbil (Hewler) airbase.

Kit: Academy 1/72 F-4J Phantom "Showtime 100" 12515, plus extra bits 'n' pieces. To be built depicting the Phantom as flown in 2013 by the YPJ.

There should have been pictures with this post, however I'm still trying to figure out how include images?
N.b. I'm not a computer person, hopefully I will sort it out before I start the build. Any assistance would be most appreciated.

just paste the link of your pic from the hosting site. Imgur, Flickr, etc., they all give us a share link for each pic, right? That's all there is to it.

Ex: my image will be pasted right after this phrase:

Which image hosting site do you use? There are also post on here showing how to do it.

Nice idea for the Phantom!

Your photos have to be on a hosting site to show, pasting a link to a local folder
on your computer doesn't work.

Missed this.  Welcome to Whiffworld LL.
You don't have to be mad to post here but we are.

So where are you geographically?  Local time on your profile is GMT -8.  So Western Canada or West Coast USA?

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Welcome to Whiffworld.   As a group, we are "mostly harmless"  but do be aware of passing anachronisms, the occasional unexpected paradox and even  some quite amazing flights of imagination. LL, welcome to the site.  Yes, "mostly harmless" just about covers it, I think ... mostly.  ;)

Re posting pictures, I can tell you how I do it.  Your mileage may vary, depending on what hosting site you use.

When one replies to a post/starts a new post, various icons appear - you want the one under the "B".  (Someone said it's the Mona Lisa - I can't see that small, so ... maybe?)  It gives you "bracket img bracket space-with-cursor bracket img/ bracket"

I use Imgur.  I select my chosen image, right-click on it, and choose "Copy Image Location".

I paste that into the "space-with-cursor" - like so: 'bracket img bracket' "https://i.imgur.com/OlrOmsf.jpg"  'bracket img/ bracket'.

I use the Preview button  to check my work, as my teachers loved to say.

And that, really, is all there is to it.

Well, there is more, but that's all I've seemed to need.

Sorry if the above seems a bit patronizing - now that I've read it back, well - I can be pedantic at times.  Sorry!

Anyway, welcome to ... here!  :)

I also use Imgur and i don't have to do that, just have Imgur open and copy the BB link they give each pic and paste it where i want it to show. I also use the preview to check if the pic is in the correct place and format before posting. Still, if it works for you that way, good enough for me.
