Does anyone know the RAL number for the red worn by these aircraft in the 50s?  The Warpaint on the type says it's a "scarlet" but that's about it.  TBH, I'm minded to go with either the WW2 RLM Red or just use the Xtracrylic Red Arrows red I already have.  I mean, it's a whif, innit? It doesn't matter.

Well, no.  That's just lazy! It does matter, because I'd rather have the relevant whiff wearing the right colours.  The best place to hide a lie is surrounded in truth.

It appears to be the same as the red in the flag, if so it's RAL3020.
I don't think it's nice, you laughin'. You see, my mule don't like people laughin'. He gets the crazy idea you're laughin' at him. Now if you apologize, like I know you're going to, I might convince him that you really didn't mean it.

It would appear that Halfords have it in their range...

AFAIK, the machines were painted in "Scharlachrot" (RAL 3020), also known as "Verkehrsrot" these days. It's also the same color that's used on German fire engines.

Elita offers the tone for modelers: https://shop.elita.de/epages/ElitaModelleShop.sf/de_DE/?ObjectPath=/Shops/ElitaModelleShop/Products/73020, and I think that Vallejo also has the tone in the assortment, too

MeierMotors is restoring D-CACE in that scheme, it may be worth reaching out to them to see how they arrived at that (IMO) very fetching shade.
