I do like the idea mate and it looks as though it will work..........................well  ;)
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Dizzyfugu

That's a cool concept. Curious about the landing gear? Or will there be a lower boat hull integrated (which looks feasible!)?  ;)

Captain Canada

Sponsons like modern birds and it will be tricycle

It looks big, have you room enough  or will you cut away the wing tips? (if dear PR19_Kit allows you to do so...) ;)

If Todd cuts them down I'm sure I can find a home for the bits he trims off................  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

It looks big
This Revell kit seems 1/72 and I read at http://kits.kitreview.com/ju290reviewbg_1.htm
"With a wingspan on 57.8 cm (almost 2 feet), Revell's Ju 290 would be impressive due to its size alone" <_<

She would look good as a boat. But this one will be land based. I think I found the sponsons, fuselage halves from an OV-10 Bronco !

Thanks a lot! That gives me ideas to solve a smilar problem!
Owing to the current financial difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel will be turned off until further notice.

Digging through my spares box, I found the front fuselage parts for an old Airfix Bristol Freighter that I had bought ( or someone gave me ? That was many a moon ago ! And thanks ! ) the resin conversion for. They'd make perfect parts to strengthen the fuselage.

Here's the Bronco fuselages, cut down, with a drop tank inserted, that I cut down to make my wheel sponsons.
