I love new design of X-wing, I really do...so I bought new X-wing...Bandai is too small so I got Revell one.
Mistake? Yeah , big mistake.
I don't know how it is possible that all of Revell factories are still standing and no one is burned?
This toy is...I have now words. Revell, I hope force will not be with you anymore...

Okay, I'm done :D Let's go to model. What's the plan? Slight correction of details, removing factory paint (I don't know , it's made from adamantium or vibranium? It's nearly unremovable) and new, classic paintjob.

First thinggs first...Cockpit. OOB it was black.

I tried to basic paint it grey. See what I saw after this:

I was surprised , really :)

What to do? Put this sh**t into Gunze Thinner to remove all of this armored paint. After long session with thinner I see very disgusted Darth Vader over my bench but paint was removed :D

Wow, experiments in organic chemistry!
If you can get down to the bare plastic you might be able to save this. May lots of force be with you!!

Luckily , it was possible.
I've made seat cover with Surfacer 500 and some detailing: targeting device and control stick. Also some minor updates on instrument panel based on photos.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

Is that a space monster in the upper right of the last pic?

I know Revell had gone down hill, here in the States, but Tarnation! That paint is painful to look at. And nonstandard scales, What the Frak!?!?!
"Mind that bus." "What bus?" *SPLAT!*

You could be right because I can't find green Vallejo :)

I'm asking myself the same question...

I hoped that seat surprise and "quality" paintjob were last unwelcomed guests on "Revell X-wing" party but I underestimated ingenuity of guys at Revell company. Well, just look at that awesome "wing" panels! Doesn't they fit like a glove? :D:D:D:D

Seriously, I have to make a special offering for the ghosts of Jedi for giving me idea of buying Proxxon oscillatory grinder. I can't imagine sanding these panels without it:

I've made little stand from spare parts. Also , X-wing is primered. I've used tew different colors. Red and blue to imitate heated surfaces , silver to make abase for chipping and dark gray to make shadows. Next stop: base colors.

Some paint:) Preshading disapeared on photo. I'll try to make a better one after painting frames of canopy :)
