Like the title says, this instructional video tells how to assemble a P-47 Thunderbolt using nothing but hand tools and muscle power. And yes, we're talking about a 1:1 scale non-whiff. ;D

Bearing in mind how quickly things were developed during the war - P-47 progressed from a design to production deliveries in less than two years - I can only tip my proverbial hat. Not only did you have to design a plane in record time, you had to design it so that it could be assembled literally anywhere and even the shipping container had to be designed so that it could be transformed into a construction platform for the plane.

The aircraft modeller 'rivet counters' of my acquaintance are considered so because of their deep interest
in history and aircraft, so a diorama of this wouldn't "mess with their minds", as they'd likely already be
familiar with the process.

Kartveli and Republic weren't exactly starting from scratch, the evolutionary path from the P-35 to the P-47C
is very clear and not only was the wing shape already established, so were the construction method and basic
form of the structure.
