If you have bought the Mach2 Avro York  C.1 you'll know that there's a lot of work needed to produce something decent. Most modellers will replace the wings with those from an early Airfix Avro Lancaster  along with the landing gear and twin tail fins. The engines can be made from stock or improved with various aftermarket kits.
Another problem is getting the fuselage halves to marry up without any gaps and that cockpit which can be detailed with the leftovers from the Airfix Avro Lancaster, although little will be seen through the Mach2 glazing unless this is replaced with a canopy from one of the vacform kits.
In the past I have used parts from the Revell Avro Shackleton AEW.2 which do fit,  apart from the twin tail fins which need to be trimmed for ground clearance. As the York's business end tapers away,  I have been thinking of adding the Shackleton cockpit which will need a lot of surgery to blend in with the rest of the fuselage. I tend to remove the Observer's position in the Shackleton nose, leaving it flat  and stuffing it with ballast but as this is a tail sitter it won't be needed.
Aftermarket decals would complement the build.

If you use the wings from Airfix's Lancaster B.II, you could make a York C.2.

There was only one C2, wasn't there?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
