I had a go at adding the wings and engines from the Revell Avro Shackleton AEW.2  to the Mach2 Avro York which went well until joining the two fuselage halves of the Mach2 York.  The top was fine but there was a gap on the underneath of the fuselage,  plus the fact that none of the interior details fitted in the cockpit without major surgery not that you would see them through the frosted cockpit canopy.
I have acquired the necessary parts for the Avro York C.2, this time I will be using a vacform Avro York fuselage. I must confess I never thought of stretching the fuselage,  good luck with your build.
