Jaguar station wagons and prototypes

I stumbled across three 1/43 resin model car companies that cover most of the Jaguar Station Wagons/Shooting Brake/Estate that made it into one off prototypes or in the case of the Jaguar Lynx Eventer into a limited conversion edition which are; Neo, Matrix and Provence Moulage. These are a bit pricey starting around the £70 to £150 depending on which model you want to buy. Some are already built , others are in kit form with a resin body plus rubber tyres and clear glazing.
I'd be inclined to build something in a larger scale such as 1/24 or 1/25, although I am limited to the base models,  metal work was never my strongest media to work with however a crash course in spot welding might do the trick.
The Jaguar V12 Kensington  Ital design (1990) looks familiar as though it is a kitbash of the Rover 600 series front end and possibly a Lexus rear,  it certainly makes an interesting subject to build  :banghead:
So too is the Jaguar R D6, I'm thinking of using the 1/24 plastic kit Jaguar MkII for the donor.

With the Jaguar MkII I would cut out the doors to give the effect of 'suicide doors ' and create a hatchback.

The Mk II made a terrible estate car in the real world.

The rear track is so narrow that the wheel arches protrude well into the luggage space, and it's impossible to widen the track as the suspension design is pretty basic, cart springs and a rigid axle. Even so it was wider than the original Mk 1!

But the present day XF Sportbrake, NOW you're talking! If I was very rich I'd have one like a shot.  ;D
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Ooooh, I've not seen the converted XJ before, that looks quite good.

The Eventer is pretty well known of course, but outrageously expensive!

It's a pity that no one does the XJ in plastic,  great photos

XJS would make a great looking sedan delivery.  Just panel in the rear side windows.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

It would too!

I can just imagine the motoring press....................'Jaguar enters the light commercial market, with a V12, 165 mph van!'  ;D ;)

It would make an ideal delivery vehicle for Bollinger or Pimms.
Or the work vehicle for a farrier specialising in polo ponies.

One would look good in a Harrods scheme, for delivering the caviar too............  ;D

Sort of reminds me of the Pontiac Firebird Type K station wagon built between 1977-79
If I'm not building models, I'm out riding my dirtbike

The Hasegawa 1/24 Jaguar XJ-S kit  comes in with two,  two doors including the TWR version. There's the XJ-SC V12 Cabriolet Targa which might be an easier option as a donor kit for the Eventer. I just hope that the rear end of the Heller Renault 5 fits.
