Correct.
They were flying from many places where removing the undergrowth leaves you fine sand.

The G-6 that Finland got were a pretty mixed bunch. Trop and not, bird cage and Erla canopies, different fins and rudders, some with wing guns (mostly removed to regain flying performance) ...
