This is inspiring me to do a USN Panther, using glossy sea blue over light gull gray in this fashion.

Nice enough models, they just don't work for me due to the angular line cuts on the top camo - they should be curved - and the fin flashes.  That's just too glaring and drags me out of believability

Fair enough.  You strive for more believability than I do.  I go for "looks right to me".
The roos on the wings being the "wrong way round" would be enough to make them unbelievable for some people.

I had noticed that but I wasn't entirely sure.  I got them completely wrong on my first RAAF Mosquito anyway, so it's not something I'd comment on.
