Sadly no, but the Inspector who came with me pointed out that it was a Swindon built 9F as it had the AWS '...installed properly. Not like those jury-rigged Crewe built ones....' 

Ouch... not touching that fight! 

Many years ago, an elderly engine driver  (originally LNER)  told me that GWR  stood for Gresley Was Right!!

As a LNER man, I'm inclined to agree but there are many things to commend a GWR locomotive, especially a Manor barking up an incline.

I used to know the late Paul Morgan, and he was the 'Mor' of Ilmor Engines who build race car engines for all sort of cars, and was the original startup for the Mercedes F1 engine company, so he was a seriously good engineer.

He once built a steam powered RC model, about 5 ft span, from aluminium, just because he could!  It flew remarkably well too, and was eerily quiet.
