Cheers  fellas,  it is a pity that the rotodyne  wasn't  continued with  and developed further, even if just  to make it less deafening.

All down to politics again.

Once Westland took over Fairey at the then Government's insistence they lost all interest in the 'dyne as they had their own heavy lifter, the Westminster, under development.

And look how successful THAT was...................... :(
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)
