I wanted to ask, too, but then I saw the hideous canopy and was certain that it has to be the Academy kit.  ;) Stay away, also from their MiG-21F!

You mean the 'flatness' of it? It looks just like the early Hasegawa one, so did Academy borrow their moulds?
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Yes, a lot wider than the real thing for sure.

Quite wide. The fuselage is a bit bulbous compared to the svelte Hasegawa Starfighter, too.
