Bit of an odd one.

Not interested in the sheet itself, only the Mosquito option on it is worth having and I have better quality versions of it anyway. No, I'm after hi-res copies of the photos that come with the sheet.  I suspect that that aircraft has tropical filters as most late UK production single stage Merlin aircraft seem to have and so need a photo to prove it. I have photos of other aircraft on the squadron and they do.

Thought I had the photos but afraid not.  The notes on the instruction sheet refers to 'longer style oil cooler intakes under nacelles', though.

Maybe Colin Strachan can help as he does that very aircraft on Freightdog 'Brits Abroad Pt II'?

I've got that sheet and no mention of tropical filters.  Hence wanting the Modeldecal one for the photos he always added.

Very difficult to tell from the two pictures in that set Lee. One picture is side on, which yoou might think will be usfull untill you realise that there is bright sunshine with the sun high above the rear of the airfraft so anything under the wings is in dark shadow.
The second picture must have been taken on the same day as the contrast is just a sharp as the previous picture and the sun is also high above the rear of tha aircraft, however the picture is taken from the left rear 3/4 so there is a little bit of the intake that can be made out. Will see what I can do about getting it up here for you. Remember that the size of the picture I am working from is only 3 x 1 3/4" to start with.

If they're scanned at a high resolution you can sometimes pull stuff out by playing with filters. And despite the quality issue I'd rather have them than not. Trying to interpret some of the photos in the various books is becoming a bit of a knack.

Actually, you can work things out even by the shadow.  There's a photo in the Frank's Mosquito Data file that he's captioned as a B.35. I've been looking at that photo for years without actually seeing what it is, simply reading the caption.

Today I looked at it properly and I realised the nose was wrong, checked the serial and lo, it's actually a 4 Sqn FB.6. It's a small photo and the scheme is MSG over Night with high demarcation so it's largely a black shape, but the nosecone isn't painted glazing and the shape of the engines is too rounded for two stage Merlins.

Having just consolidated the meagre Mosquito pics I have stashed on me hard drive, I find a splendid rear shot of the aircraft in question and yes, it does indeed have the larger intakes with integral tropical filters.
