Space Shuttle bomber idea

Whilst I was packing away my stash I came across parts of the 1/144 Revell Space Shuttle from two kits.  I hope that there's enough parts to create a full model,  but whatif the Space Shuttle had been converted into a bomber?
This idea isn't that far away from what the Russian Space Shuttle was designed to do,  not quite Star Wars or firing space weapons but on the return to Earth act as a free full bomber. This would mean that you would only get one pass over the target,  drop the ordinance and then land.
