Hi Guys,
I've never been a fan of the new BMW Mini. Although I have driven a few including the John Cooper S and the convertible versions.
So I was thinking of adding wooden strips to the 1/24 kit model of the Mini  One estate either the Clubman and/or Countryman just as the classic mini of yesteryear used to have.
Either wooden lollipop sticks or those wooden sticks you use for stirring your coffee with would be ideal. I think you can buy something similar from a hobby store.
With a bit of practice I'm sure that I could build the wooden frame in miniature for the Morris Traveller,  actually I was thinking about using this on the new retro Beetle although no estate model was built but there used to be a resin conversion kit for the classic Beetle. This would require major surgery.

I'd suggest balsa wood for this stunt - and you can get it in very thin boards (1mm), so that it might be applied directly to the carbody.

You might want to consider the Uschi van der Rosten products - these include many wood paints/decals.  It could be one of those weird cases where it looks more like real wood (at scale) than wood?

Interdecal also did some continuous sheets with wooden surfaces, up to 190x130mm in size:

Much cheaper than the UvR stuff.

You can also get sheets designed specifically for the plywood fuselages of WWI Albatross fighters which looks quite good. I've got some somewhere ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
