Starting this for the 1920s/1930s/Between The wars GB over on BTS.

Backstory [so far]: With the introduction of the Hawker Hurricane into Squadron service in 1937 and the Supermarine Spitfire due soon thereafter, the RAF recognised  that they had a need for an advanced training aircraft that would prepare new pilots for the higher performance of the new fighter aircraft. The Air Ministry issued a specification for a new training aircraft and the Gloster Aircraft Company's submission was selected.

My starting point:

As you can see from the drawing I have cut out a template for the cockpit floor and need to work the BUF roundels into the backstory in due course.

The Gimlet was the Gloster Aircraft Company's submission for an Advanced Trainer for the Royal Air Force. The aircraft depicted is the first production model on its delivery to the  Aeroplane and Armament Experimental Establishment (A&AEE) at RAF Martlesham Heath in early 1938. As  delivery was made during the very brief 4 month period in which Oswald Mosley's British Union of Fascists had gained control of the Conservative Party and appointed Mosley as Prime Minister, the aircraft bears the Lightning Flash Roundel which the BUF introduced on assuming power, but on the removal of Mosley and his supporters in the Revolt of the Quiet Men in the summer of 1938, these were soon replaced by the standard RAF roundel.

Uh? Are these pictures the what-if model of yours? (congratulations if so)
or inspiration pictures from the True World?  <_<

Nice.  I like the idea of the short lived BUF rule.  Did Spode get a cabinet position?

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

That does look good . The G.50 does have a 1930's  Gloster type "look" about it.

Nice conversion with the 2nd seat and love the Revolt of the Quiet Men!

Picture the scene. A jack booted lacky bursts into PM Mosley's office and says "Sir, the Quiet Men are revolting!"

As for the BUF,  one pines for the good old days when mainstream Fascists stood tall and proud (in black or brown shirts) and didn't hide behind obscuring brands but actually had Fascist in their party name. It's as if Fascism earned a bad name for itself somewhere along the way.

Whatever.

Yeah, Fascism & National Socialism both appear to have done some serious damage to their reputation & brand image somewhere along the line. I wonder what that might have been?

Just a quiet word lads, lets be a little careful with what is an emotive subject and very near the No Politics rule (about the only rule we actually have, or at least I apply)

Drat... Now I have to bid on a lot on one of my FB groups, lol! One with a Polikarpov (Boeing) I-16 (P-29) and one Macchi (Gloster) M.200 (Gladius) heh, but no BUF involvement.
