Shorts Skyvan and Sherpa

A couple of SARO autogyro concepts that apparently use the HDM.106 fuselage as the
starting point. The HDM.106 was the Miles-Hurel-Dubois project that was sold to Shorts
and developed into the Skyvan. Applying these gyro layouts to a Skyvan would be fairly

Just what I was thinking.
What it needs is a small auxiliary engine in the pylon to spin the rotors up just fast enough for tip mounted ramjets to take over.

With that monster pylon they could have a VERY big auxiliary engine in there!

I've just read an article about Viking Air making their Twin Otter as a water bomber. At the end of the article it lists all the aircraft Viking Air owns the rights too, it seems that when they bought all the rights of the DHC-1 to DHC-7 and the water bombers from Bombardier, they acquired all the rights to the Skyvan and Sherpa lines too ---
