The Wooksta!

Another P8?  Hell Yeah!

This one is different from the other two.  Many years back, TsrJoe has a polished balsa shape for the fuselage and I asked to borrow it to take a mould.  This was done and several castings made.  I started detailing one, with some scribed lines for the u/c bays and a chopped up Novo Lightning F6 for the tailplane roots.  It also provided the wings, once the wheel well bays were filled and sanded back.  Jetpipes were cobbled together with two felt tip pen casings.

But I only detailed one side and then the bits went back in the box and it got forgotten.  Every so often it would come out and then go back again.

Fast forward to three weeks ago.  I get the first test print from Alistair for his and I enjoyed it so much I dug out this one, henceforth referred to as "The Shape"

I finished scribing the detail after a search for the drawings blown up from the relevant British Secret Projects volume, sorted out the missing tailplane root then attached everything.

Wow this is "high level" model making, I feel like a green little boy :-\
[the word "realistic" hurts my heart...]

I think I have one of those "shapes" kicking around somewhere. This might get me to dig it out and do it as a display model seeing the cockpit is solid, or if I check I might be able to adapt the Lighntning canopy, if not it's getting a painted one.

I'm not sure how many I cast - at least 3 people have them, you being one and Uncle Frank being another.

Great   I thought it was TSRJoe who gave me it as every time I go round to his I keep being given odd lumps of resin, and some can be very odd

I may well have been number three. I have a vauge memory of a "Lightning" shaped lump of resin being passed my way by you.........If I have it its buried deep in the stash.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

Size (of the stash) matters.

I think I passed one to Joe as a courtesy and I know Gary has got one too.  Geoff Payne may have got one also.

It's in a white very smooth material.

Now parked next to a Huntsman and in plain sight to remind me to start work on them sometime.

White?  That'll be the Smoothcast resin I was using at the time.  Pretty sure it's what I'm using now but under a different name.

Use a Novo or similar boxing Lightning F6 for the wing and tail surfaces.  They're cheap and easy to find.

Probably got some in the old Lightning Bit's box, probably Frog which will be the same.
