There has been no comment on my McDonnell Manta... Perhaps some of you might enjoy the colored version more? So here goes:

McDONNELL XF2M-1 MANTA

(Sorry about the propellers... they got sort of lost in translation... LOL...)

Only getting a red cross at the moment.

I did see your original Manta pics (red crossed too now ) and I thought they were very good.

Probably a problem with my server. Happens sometimes... The pics are back now...

I really need to fix the propeller problem. Forgot to leave them on the colored version! Perhaps it speaks unconsciously of my secret wish to do a jet fighter version à la Gloster Meteor. I always considered the P-67 as a superior design that never got the chance it deserved...

I did a jet-powered XP-67 here. On Page one, there are two scolloped-wing versions. After all, Batman had to fly something.  ;D
Not older than dirt but remembers when it was still under warranty.

Merlin V-1650 powered P-67C proposal from McDonnell, 38 page pdf.

It shows various armament configurations including eight 37mm cannon,
two in each wing-root and four on the belly under a fairing.

That's interesting Jon.

8 37mm would certainly have spoiled someone's day
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
