The X-2 looks more like an Su-57 than an F-18

F-2 is derived from the Agile Falcon studies which aimed to give the F-16 a larger wing against the Fulcrum / Flanker threat and in itself was based on Vought's attack projects which were NOT based on their V-1600 series of proposals to USN. So, painting an F-2 in USN / USMC colours would not have been what if.

Do you mean something like this,  I think I used an Airfix F-16 with the Eurofighter wings.

Will do alright as a seperate whiff but the Agile Falcon is really the F-2 with large but more traditionally shaped horizontal tails. Places (where l am not exactly liked) appear quite on top in a google search and they would be far more authorative... but this picture works in showing the extra wing area when compared to a regular Falcon.

X-2 based around the F-18 with stealth features from the F-22, first unofficial flight 2018 from a source who says that they 'cannot deny or confirm that the information is true '.
I suspect the only thing the X2 may have in common with the Hornet is the undercart. Its quite common for proof of concept demo birds to use available spares off other types.

The lack of source material is what should have been the first red flag about that pile of BS. Add to that the date of the first flight being off by 2 years.
Its pretty clear any one who knows their subject would be able to back up their "information" with good primary or secondary (media reports) of the event.
I always hope for the best.
Unfortunately,
experience has taught me to expect the worst.

The X-2's design remind more of the F-22 or even the SU-57 like Chris said.
I've read somewhere that the Agile Falcon design was supposed to give the normal F-16 it's originally intended performance because of the weight increase caused by all the modifications done to the original LWF F-16 design and that the F-2 didn't accomplish that idea because it is heavier than a normal F-16 and the powerplant (General Electrics F110-GE-129) is the same as used on Block40/50 F-16s and that means the performance is actually worse than that of a normal F-16.
Personally, i don't like the F-2's design as much as the normal Viper. Canopy looks terrible and although barely noticeable, there are differences in the overall shape of the thing which to me look weird. The stretched fuselage and the profile of the nose are what jumps out to me as more noticeable.
That's why i decided to use a normal F-16 fuselage with the F-2's wings and tailplanes for my view of the F-16 Block 70.
