Focky Wulf FW-189B in Holland

When the whole of the Netherlands was liberated from the Germans in May 1945 the Dutch authorities were keen to re-establish the air force as soon as possible. Of course, there were a number of Dutch squadrons in the RAF. These were transferred to the Dutch Air Force and formed the basis of a reborn fighting force.

However, there was a shortage of transport and training aircraft. To make up the deficit a number of former Luftwaffe aircraft were incorporated into the force. These included three Focke Wulf FW-189B trainers. The aircraft were repaired where necessary and stripped of their camouflage paint. Coded U-11, U-12, U-14 the aircraft were used until 1949 for the training of navigators and radio operators.

Model: MPM 1/48

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.
