 Cool to be able to do something with a personal connection (well, of sorts anyway).

Directly after my time at the bundeswehr in 1988/89 I build a Revell Unimog in 1/35, the vehicle I drove there. Right numberplate, decals and some scratchbuild additions to it. Have to make a few photos of this old one, but it was not build (and painted) so good at all.

Not a worry, it was early days - we all have a model or three like that... (channelling Fred, "Don't ask etc...")

Sounds like it might be time to revisit that project?

As mentioned here last time, two pics of this old 1/35 Unimog i made a long time ago - I think it must have been 1989.

I was in a communication nit and my Unimog had half of a 30 meter comm-mast on its back. Took several hours to set the com station up and running. Additionally, it also has a small one axle trailer with a waveguide.

The model has the same decals and sticker than "my" Unimog, even the right license plate. Which was quite tricky to make at a time, when you could not print it yourself.
On the back, I added the come tower parts, and over the cabin, you the little crane that was used to set up the tower is visible. Of course this crane was operated manually....

Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Now finished the 3D printed radio container for the 1/72 Unimog:
