BAe Hawk T.68 Khok

        In the late 1980's the Israeli Air Force was looking for a new advanced trainer to supplement its fleet of "Tzukit", Fouga Magisters, and A-4s of the Air Force Flight Academy. BAe was offering the Hawk 60 series which having the Adour 861 engine was more suited to their requirements than earlier versions and along with the extended nose for additional avionics of the Korean Mk.67 decided the matter.
   Entering service in 1994 the aircraft replaced the A-4 "Ayit" in the advanced training and weapons trainer roles with 147 Squadron, the Goring Ram / Flying Ibex based at Hatzerim air base.
   The "Khok" (Hawk in Yiddish) proved to be popular while it was in service with the IDFAF.
This particular aircraft was given the name "Boxer", מִתאַגרֵף in Hebrew, as this aircraft was very easy to fly so the students almost ended up fighting to get to fly in it.









The build consists of the Revell Hawk T.1 as the basis with the Freightdog T2 rear and an Air-Graphics Bae Hawk 67 (Korean) nose conversion set. Decals from various sources and the paints by HATAKA, blue range.

That looks very good, and the longer tailpipe adds that special IDF touch. The longer nose is a good compensation for that, too.

This build was a little rushed and I was never really happy with some of it so I have done some rework to the load-out. Out goes the first practice bomb carrier I made and in comes it's replacement





Not only is the painting far better, it's straight on it's pylon as well.

Next up is to carefully remove the canopy and sour out why it's not sitting correctly, probably my own fault for not following the instructions I bet!

Funny you should say that........

As I started two Freightdog T2 conversions I have the rear of two Hawks that I intend to put together. It's only soimething that I do a little bit to now and again, mainly holding the parts together trying to see in my minds eye how to get them to look right if I applied glue.
