It appears that Lionel has once more teamed up with Hornby to produce another battery operated R/C train set but I can't work out which scale they have chosen. The track width is 50mm which is larger than 00 and Ho scale but smaller than  (depending on where you bought the set) G in the USA, O/1 gauge in the UK.
You get a large oval of plastic track, locomotive and tender plus two coaches, hand controller with sounds for the Hogwarts Castle locomotive plus sounds from the films retailing at around £50 . Batteries not included.
There's another set with just the locomotive, tender and track plus controller and extra track but no points or any scenery.
Why not just stick with 00/ho gauge, even if the track was plastic at least the train could run on Hornby or Lionel layout. I  am hoping that the wheels can be changed to 00 gauge.

Lionel were always masters of their own world when it came to scale.  :-\

It works out to be almost 1/35 scale from the track gauge.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Thanks Kit, we don't even get the R/C handset in the UK. Just been reading some of the reviews on Amazon.

Picked the battery powered Hogwart's remote control set up just prior to Christmas from Cosco, it does look very nice and agree seems to be around 35 scale (looks good circling the Chrimbo tree with boxes as tunnels etc)
Previously SWMBO got the battery powered Polar Express remote control set which seems to be similar in scale, again basic but quite nicely detailed, chunky click together track, curves and straights to make a big oval or circle :)

Thanks, maybe you can give it a review? If the track is compatible then additional points or an end to end layout.
