Douglas EC-47 AEW Electric Blue

I wonder if the Douglas C-47 was ever converted into an AEW platform? I know that some were used in the Electronic Warfare role but it makes sense to me as a whiff.
There's the 1/72 old and newer Airfix kits,  then the over engineered Italian DC-3. I'm not too sure if you can still get the AlleyCat turbo conversion sets anymore and Heritage Aviation Models used to sell the turbo plus Rolls-Royce Darts but I haven't seen them for a very long time.
I'm thinking a pair of Rolls-Royce Griffons, either the Grumman E-1 or E-2 radome. Maybe keep the arrestor hook and folded wings or if I can get hold of the Grumman Hawkeye kit then I'll try using it's engines as well.
The rear tail will have fins for stability.
