Hi!

Here's the first model I ever did using the techniques I still use today.

Next to it is the Typhoon I just finished, showing the progression over 7 years or so.

Check the roundels on the old one, they are post-war!!

Very well done.  The typhoon is one of those planes I never had any apreciation for until I actually bothered to learn something about it.

If I could even find a model I did seven years ago, I would be embarrassed to let it see the light of day.

And you should've named your post "Twophoons" B)

Both of them are pretty fine pieces of work.

Wish I had your skill.

Done wih an airbrush, I presume.

They look good together Ollie - what kit ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Left one is Hasegawa 1/48 Typhoon Ib with Arrow Graphics markings and Ultracast bombs, right one is 1/48 Monogram job.

Airbrushing is not difficult, but if you keep being afraid of it, it'll stay difficult.  Just jump in there with a knife between your teeth and show the brush who's the boss.

I don't mind showing old stuff, it's fun to see how much better I've become!   :P

If you want the full story on the Hasegawa Typhoon, here's the place to go : RCAF 2000

Thanks buddies!

You could tell the one on the right is the older one as you've done the classic freehand overspray of the darker colour leaving not much of the lighter colour showing.  A mistake I made all too often in my short airbrushing career!  :dum:

Hi Ollie,
As my wife was looking at your topic over my shoulder, I commented the picture: "2 airplanes kissing each others, what-if..."
Question: who is the girl, who is the boy? :)
