Apologies for the poor quality pics. These were taken on my phone.  Almost finished Zvezda 1/72 C-130 soon to be in the markings of the  Feachd an Adhair Poblachd Albannach Neo-eisimeileach (Air Force, Independent Scottish Republic). Just need to apply little saltires!. First in a line of subjects for this long term project. Why "Heavy Metal Herc"? Well, as this represents the heavy metal end, I used artwork from the 1981 anthology movie "Heavy Metal". The big angry guy is the character Hanover Fiste!

Aircraft is depicted in the current "haggis & heather"  scheme. Model was sprayed overall Humbrol 27 (Dark Sea Grey) using a good old fashioned rattle can. The Dark Green/Dark Earth colours were brush painted and, the black areas are solid colour decal sheet..There was a fair amount of masking involved which, was a bit tedious but, I did it in stages - Fuselage, then tailfin/tailplanes and, finally the wings.. I've got an Airfix Skyvan on the workbench which will be painted in an earlier non splinter type finish. Just for a bit of variation!. To follow, I have a Revell (ex Italeri) 1/32 Mirage IIIE, 1/32 Revell Hawker Hunter FGA.9 , 1/72 Breguet Atlantic, 1/72 Italeri C-27 Spartan. Covering a timeline from approximately when Ireland gained its Independence, I've got massive scope for choices!
