Read what I said in the X-13 thread, the same reasoning applies.................
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Well, that's the end of the Goblin build.  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:  :banghead:

The well yellowed canopy was so brittle that it split all up one side while I was trying to trim it. And yes, I used everything from nail scissors to sprue cutters via a scalpel and it STILL split. :(

As the current price on eBay for the same kit is over £70.00, yes really, there's no chance I'm going to get one just for the SAME vacform canopy.

End of story...............

Is there any chance that some different canopy would work?

PR19_Kit

Not really, it's a very short, fat shape.

I've still got the split and cracked original canopy and I'll try and make a silicone rubber male mould from it, then a female mould from that, and finally a hard resin male mould and try and vacform another one, but it'll take a long time. :(

Making a new one is the only way to go .
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Possible way forward, that I have used in similar circumstances.

If you have a close, but not quite, canopy part in the spares box, change the canopy opening system so that it can be raised, side opening, Slid forward and fix it in that open position.

That's how I made an F-14 canopy fit on a two seat A-10. I used the A-10 windscreen.
What if you used some two part epoxie to make the male mold and smash molded a new canopy over that?

Or as I said about the X-13, just make it an UAV.

One thought occurs to me, as it's an 'escort fighter' and it's carried INSIDE the B-54B's bomb-bay, the canopy's not visible from the outside so I can live with it being canopy-less for a while.  ;D

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
