Hi Rez here

Pusan Perimeter, 16 August, 1950; Battle of Masan:

Elements of the Londthyrian Confederacy Army's Armour Corps (Scout Section, 3rd Platoon, E Co., 50th Armoured BN), attached to the US 8th Army (24th RCT), comes under fire by an M4A3E8 of the 89th Tank Battalion (Medium)'s recon platoon section.  50th Armoured had been ordered to conduct a Relief in Place; and in the After Action Reports and investigation into the friendly fire incident, it was noted that the tank commander, a reservist recalled to active duty, had spent the entirety of his previous enlistment fighting from North Africa to Normandy, across France and into Germany.  Psychological review indicated he suffered flashbacks and severe combat stress; while interviews with his crew and attached infantry section reported that they had repeated told their tank commander that he was laying on friendly forces.

After this incident, the LCA Armour Corps issued a field directive to all Panther D Mk1/2* battalions in theatre to repaint their vehicles field green with white allied stars on the upper glacis plate of the hull, on both turret sides (or vehicle sides), and roof to prevent future fratricide incidents.

*Londthyrian Army Panther Ds differ from their German counterparts (PzKpfw V Ausf. D) by mounting an American M3 90mm main gun, GM 6046 diesel engine, and Spicer transmission
