This short video outlines some basic modelling and research for a model of the un-named refinery that is seen exploding in the Opening Titles of the Gerry Anderson TV series 'Thunderbirds'.
This was made for a friend and was intended to be used as part of a training series on Special Effects Photography where this model would explode. I was not involved in the pyrotechnics aspect, but had a rudimentary idea of what was needed. The Training did not happen and some of the model pieces were used in a different production - a short promo film for a proposed TV series called 'Mob Street'.
I am new to the site, so please let me know if this sort of thing is appropriate for the forum.

Interesting use of "found" parts & quite well constructed & painted.

I make dioramas for (some of) the models I build but nothing like that.

Generally we're pretty friendly & inclusive here (& there are a lot of Gerry Anderson fans around), so keep 'em coming & we'll see what happens. ;)

Quite like your website*, too.

Your stuff might not be what most of the members do - but it seems absolutely appropriate.

It's very interesting and clever, got me thinking about buildings for my 00/ho model railway layout.
