Quote from: RAFF-35 on August 05, 2023, 12:27:27 AMTo the best of my knowledge, we never had any Ducks at all (other that the one in Murphy's War). It's one of those where you genuinely question why it's not a real world build 😄
The Brits had the Walrus as their go to sea plane for ship launches ..probably why they never used the Ducks.

Very true, the performance figures are very similar. But what if there was some reason that the Walrus couldn't be built in the numbers they were, or that the RAF/Fleet Air Arm required more amphibious aircraft than could be supplied? 😄
Or maybe the Brits got their hands on new ships built for the USN which for some reason or another they didn't need or want or the Brits needed far more  and they came fully kitted out with Ducks already sitting on the catapults and the British just thought " Yup we'll use that..get the paint cans out lad " 😊

That sounds good, we could go with that as the back story
Don't let ageing get you down, it's too hard to get back up

All yours matey boy ..go for it  ;D
HA I inspired a back story..that's made my day 😄
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

Maybe the French had ordered some and then the Brit's took them over along with a lot of other types in the "Real World". Post Dunkirk we were getting hold of anything that could fly regardless of how good/useful it was/might be.

Post "Invasion Fever" it could of then been used as a trainer, or possibly used for clandestine night time special op's ? Smuggling agents into France or perhaps post Crete into Greece etc ?
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Or across the North Sea into Norwegian Fjords.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.

I absolutely love that!! I'm going to have to make one in Lysander livery now

And unlike Catalinas, they were ALL amphibians.

Yeah, yeah, I know, they were amphibians anyway because they could fly and float, but you KNOW what I mean!   :banghead:
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

...and I'm not a closeted 'Take That' fan, I'm a REAL fan! :)

Kit

Excellently finished & very believable - well done!
