Well that is off the meter.. did not really see that coming, but it is certainly interesting take on the original kit.

IMaybe they shrink over the time ?  They are +30 years old .
What is the best way to stretch them a little bit ?

For my opinion.. don't try, they will probably break.
Perhaps fit in place and over the gap, put a cover over it, perhaps as some sort of walkway. In this build I would think that continuous tracks are neither here not there.

Good idea,  maybe the topside area is perfect for that , under the wings  !
 but also the tracks must be bend around the two very small edges  , so a little heat would be very helpful ...
on this tank I can use some very small screws to fix them ,  all massive plastic .

If I build another mk.1 anytime, I will get some plastic chains in parts for it, and the two half's of the tracking guide could be made wider very easy with some spacer between the inner and outer parts !
