Forty Five and Counting

The title is a bit misleading especially as the model I am using is only 34 years old and I am headding towards twice that.

It's amazeing what you find when looking for something else. I was looking for squadrons that coould have operated the TSR.2 when I found a note saying that 45 Squadron would have probably been one of them but it had also been slated to operate the Buccaneer befor their Airships decided otherwise.

So this is a correction to an omission from the late 60's and will consist of the old Airfix Buccaneer with slipper tanks from one of the new Buccaneers as well as a couple of bombs. Decals will come from the kit and the spares box.

Some progress already. So far the outer wing panels have been glued together, the rear bullet fairing on the tail fin added, although the underside of the tail surfaces need a couple of ejector pin depressions filled. The insides of the main intakes have been primed white, I hope they turn out ok so I can give them a shopt of gloss appliance white later as this will speed things up considerably.
I have also been putting together the stores for this build, the tanks have both been assembled, minus the fuel dump fairings so that it's easier to clean them up, and the two 1,000 Lb bombs have also been assembled.
It's a simple kit so it should be fairly fast to build.

Absolutly very little done. 

The filler applied to the tailplanes was cleaned up and the exhausts have been painted and that is it

A little bit of painting done along with hurriedly finding a pair of ejector seats out of another Old airfix Buccaneer box. If I remember correctly the sets are Aeroclub so will be a welcome addition to the ever-present nose weight problem. Cockpit was painted and the front faces of the Spays were given a lick of paint as well.

With all the problem with getting a decent white it's a wonder I just didn't stop.

And now that's the top glued in place and firmly clamped shut



Don't worry too much about the mess in the background. There are parts from another two Buccaneers and a Phantom in there some where, posibly part of a Bf 109 as well.

I found so mojo hideing in the corner of the room so I thought I better use it.

I had previously added some filler to the joint between upper and lower fuselage so that got sanded back. The kit's nose and tail/airbrake have been fitted. The nose is not too bad fit wiase, the tail though    it fits where it touches. Width and height wise neither is the same as the other so they look as if they have been added from another kit quite possibly in a different scale 
I may flood the joint with super glue just to make sure the parts stay togetherwhen the PSR inevitably takes place.
