I've got a Airfix B-57 in 48th and I want to see this matey 😀 👍
If it aint broke ,,fix it until it is .
Over kill is often very understated .
I know the voices in my head ain't real but they do come up with some great ideas.
Theres few of lifes problems that can't be solved with the proper application of a high explosive projectile .

This looks very interesting! Please carry on!

Life has got in the way this year, but progress at last! Hope to meet the deadline.
I knew i would use that Reyhex nose eventually!

PR19_Kit

Rayhex, there's a name to conjure with!  :o

I think I still have one of those noses too.

Although the RAF liked the idea of an outer screen of patrolling aircraft, backed up by high-performance if short-ranged interceptors, the Red Dean missile carried by the Canberra F(AW)24 had proved overweight & unreliable.  Supersonic performance would not be required if better missiles could be carried. The VC10 was offered but its long range and large weapon carrying capacity came at too high a cost for the treasury. The accountants really liked the relatively cheap Canberra and the opportunity to acquire to acquire a batch of Martin B-57 front fuselages at s reasonable price gave the opportunity for the two- man crew to both have a view - two pairs of eyes are always better than one. PR9 wings and engines  offered excellent altitude performance; aa rocket pack was considered but felt to be unnecessary. The main armament was to be the radar-guided Sparrow, but an IR homing backup was needed; although Sidewinder was cheaper Red Top offered superior capability against large aircraft even if only two could be carriedYou cannot view this attachment..
Enough of the new Canberras, designated F(AW)25, were purchased for two front line squadrons (5 & 11) plus an OCU.  The cockpit & radar were matched to the F-4K Phantom. They served for many years, their swan-song being to patrol from Ascension Island during the Falklands conflict.

This model reminded me why it had been on the shelf! Mixing leftover bits and pieces was economical but caused problems all the way.
Frog B(I)8 fuselage & Red Tops, Matchbox PR9 wings, Airmodel B-57 canopy, Reyhex nose, Airfix B-57 floor copy, scrapped Buccaneer pilots/seats & nosewheel guards, Revell? Sparrows plus loads of Miliput. Xtrakit decals disintegrated even after over varnishing, while the Squadron markings came from a Modeldecal sheet 97 (printed 1988) which behaved impeccably! I would not do it this way again! My next project will be simple and straight out of the box.

So, here is the Canberra F(AW)26 - I initially tried Phantom air defence light greys but the result was "grey shark" like but dull, so I settled for the larger aircraft Hemp/ Light Aircraft Grey. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

Magic stuff!

The number of Canberra interceptors that have appeared on here must be approaching double figures by now, but each one has its own particular quirk that makes it different. In this case it's the clutch of Sparrows under its belly, wonderful thinking Glenn.
