F-11C King Tiger Upgrade

Very much a what-if project going on here.  I had an old Lindberg F-11 Tiger that had turned out fairly well aside from not being armed, so I decided to give it a facelift.  Cut off the short nose and replaced it with a longer nose to hopefully represent the long nosed F-11 variants.  Gave it a repaint using Testors Aircraft Gray, and added four 3D printed (PLA) wing pylons.  Currently my plan is to add a pair of AIM-9Ms and potentially also AIM-120s.  I also added a centerline pylon for a 250 gallon (or thereabouts) drop tank.  I also really want to redo the cockpit, the Lindberg cockpit is basically nonexistent at this point.  I may make an attempt to darken the raised panel lines as well.  Just a fun little side project I wanted to do.

With AIM-9Ms and potentially AMRAAMs?  I doubt it, but maybe.  Anyway the fuel tank is squared away now.  I may also add a nozzle for either an F404 or F110 engine at the back end.  The 110 might be a bit overpowered for something this size, so it'll probably be a 404/414.

Sometimes I hit a point where I'm just not sure what to do next, and this build is a perfect example of that.  I left this one for nearly a year before I finally decided to have another look at it.  Removed the Sidewinders, went over it with grey spray, and then added them back, plus a couple of AIM-120As.  Not super formidable, but it's hard to put too much else on those wings without getting in the way of the landing gear doors.

Re-worked the pylons to make room for a third set, now I can carry a couple more AMRAAMs or something...
