A while ago I bought a part built Airfix Centurion kit from someone on here, which unfortunately had a few important bits missing. Fast forward to about a week ago, when putting all my kits away ready for moving, and  I put said centurion on the work station, and started to rebuild it, and mess around with some paint on it. But I still needed turret parts and a gun, so I had a dig through the parts bin and found an AMX 30 turret, mantlet and gun, stuck them on and they look ok to me. I might change the gun for something withna bit more detail, and I need to find the rest of the AMX turret parts tòo. I have some white metal LMG's like the ones I put on my RAF regiment Staghounds, so one of those can go on top of the commanders cuppola.

Here's what I have done with this so far, I think I have stuck enough bits to it now. Ti me it looks right, so that will do for me, I stuck a spare centurion barrel on it too wich looks ok, and a ser of centuriin smoke dischargers. Next job is to make one M 60 out of the scrap parts of several I have salvaged.

This one is going to be protecting a Uranium mine in Africa. Made from parts of damaged or dead armour hit lots with hammers and cutting gear to make it fit together. I have a chafee tank awaiting a similar fate, it will get a Rarden 30 mm cannon fitted to it and a roof mounted LMG.

Yes, its from the Heller 1/72nd scale kit, the hull is 1/76th airfix centurion, and the gun is a spare from the Vespid Mk5 centurion. I tjought I had all the turret parts but I must have used them all when I built the ARV version. It's the one at the rear right in this picture.

I do like tanks with long gun barrels Chris and that 20pdr looks just right..the AMX30 already has a long gun so the balance is just bang on
Slap that on a sizable chassis and bingo  ;D

Here is the finished tank, named Centeur, as its part French, the tank performed spot on after a few other upgrades too, and the turret and gun worked as anticipated.

Hmm, not as well detailed as the M-60 or the Chieftain but good enough, & a good combination of hull, turret & gun.

The centurion bit is the old airfix kit, and pretty well lacking on the detail front, and I am a bit sparse in suitable add on bits to suit a tank of the time period. The turret is the old Heller AMX 30 one, and is alsk quite lacking in any detail.
