Bought the Meikraft example many years ago, languished until I summoned up the courage to do this short-run kit. Not as hard as I thought, but the usual paint disasters combined with my glacial pace meant that it only got finished today. Decals were terrible, if you do one of these layer a lot of Microscale decal film over them before applying.

Could almost pass as a primitive A-10. Or more likely the A-9. I have a soft spot for these early jets. Nice work on a primitive kit.

It was the first aircraft fitted with an afterburner, because the engine was so anemic that it needed one just to be able to get off the ground without lengthening the runway.  ;D

Looks good Ratty, I've always had a soft spot for these early jets as well
Do not condemn the judgement of another because it differs from your own. You may both be wrong.

Meikraft did some interesting stuff, whatever happened to them?

I've got a few of theirs, but not the Pirate.
Kit's Rule 1 ) Any aircraft can be improved by fitting longer wings, and/or a longer fuselage
Kit's Rule 2) The backstory can always be changed to suit the model

Thanks all! As usual, it's a '3 footer,' but I'm feeling good that I persevered. Short-run kits are now not so daunting.

- Can't be bothered to do the proper research and get it right.

Another ill conceived, lazily thought out, crudely executed and badly painted piece of half arsed what-if modelling muppetry from zenrat industries.
