No, I'm not ashamed, and I'd really like to point out that i find much pleasure in just sifting through my stash, remembering the original plans, but also replanning and reassessing ideas. And all fun is good fun!

I now have my plans on either written on the outside of the box, on a slip of paper inside the box or more recently on a Word document on my P.C.. I still forget what I was going to do with some kits

I must confess to something similar in numbers to our esteemed Pellson - but the same feelings about going through things and thinking 'One Day...' 

And yes, a List of ideas, as well as notes in the boxes are great ideas, as all too often you can dispose of something and only then remember what you were going to do with it...

Nice ! I can't even think about it. They're in the dumpster and that's that. If I do think, I'll be jumping in there and digging them out !

Well, it began with a few which were beyond my skill to do justice to at that time. Then a couple became whiffs, and eventually I became addicted. Somebody mentioned all those bits of paper with bright ideas scribbled down. Yes indeed. In the advanced stages of addiction you develop a feckin' spreadsheet as well, be warned!
Nowadays, I gain great satisfaction from revisiting, revitalising and revamping old unfinished whiffs, and giving them the backstories I could never have given them in the ignorance of my youth.
Only somehow, I still seem to create those boxes of half-arsed bits faster than I can revisit them....

That's true. I'll have to look at that more closely. I might have a few things I'll never use.

So I was up in the loft the other day, repacking my stash to try and make room for the latest arrivals, and a half-made Airfix 1:72 Sunderland from 50 years ago split in half on me. Begun in the mid-1970s, then I decided to whiff it as my dream "flying houseboat" and ground to a halt because gun turrets. At the time I didn't know abut the Empire 'boats it was derived from.
In a box big enough to hold it, there is plenty of space to stack smaller boxes round it. You can guess the rest.
Still, now I can get at those awful windows with a sink mark in every one, and replace them. "Now" I say. Well, maybe in another 10 years or so.

We hear ya ! And for sure, stashing kits inside other kits is a great way to hide....I mean make space.

Gad, Sir! How very dare you! I should sink so low! Strictly for reasons of available space and keeping it tidy, y'know.

H'mm, come to think of it, there's that unmade Revell 1:72 BV 222 Wiking next to it. I wonder what I could sneak....I mean tidy away in there.
