The Wooksta!

If you were paying attention to my threads, you may remember this Fw 190D-9:

Anyway, it got some RAF markings and an Air Min number but it wasn't one I was happy with, as underneath was a bit like sandpaper.
Cue last weekend and the happy accident of the D-9 resprayed in that lovely blue-green and my imagination gets sparked.  I've managed to obtain a fresh kit but there's another that I want to do, so it's been for a bath in a bag full of Dr Magic and the paint is all dissolved away.

Currently drying and draining away, it's due for surgery tomorrow for a Ta 152 tail and possibly a new top cowl if the casts come out properly.

The metal bits are a set of Panzerblitz rocket racks which may go back on.  I don't think the Luftwaffe used rockets against shipping so they may well go back on.

Probably not a priority at the time of introduction, but this is whiff world......

The Panzerblitz racks are going back on, the glue is too extensive for even the Sandmaster to fix.

Anyway, it looked like this earlier.

I'd hacked the cowl guns off earlier.

If it wasn't ruined before, it is now.  And waiting for these bits to be cleaned up.

And fitted in place.

The fin is glued in and the filler applied.  The top cowl doesn't quite fit and I think I've used the wrong one on the mould.  Ironically, I've just found the original master.

And for my next trick...

These are another pair of legacy builds that I had no plans for.

But having chopped the back end off, they give me a bit more scope.

And yes, that is one of the pair of BFO cannons that will go underneath one of them.

The glue under the wings on the D was removable after all.  The attached rack is now no more and the replacement needs a tweak before it goes on.

I say tweak, what I mean is rebuild the front as there's a sodding great air bubble.  But at least the shackles cast properly.

The top cowl is on, plus filler as I went with the one I had.  Looking forward to getting paint on it.
