Most of the Bad Ideas have at one point or another been built, so I will stick with something that I have whiffed before and failed to provide the final version. It will be based around the Austin FX4 London Black Cab, a vehicle that is not built for speed the most I ever achieved was 99.97mph with the Nissan 2.7L with a three speed automatic gearbox. Yes there was a hearse conversion and a soft-top,plus a long-wheel base but these were customised along with the van version. I'm thinking along the lines of a emergency response vehicle, yes I know that it doesn't have 4x4 but it did share the same engine with the Land Rover no not the V8. City Response version.

Speaking of Bad Idea subs, what about taking the Surcouf design, or the HMS M1 and ramping it up?
Something Kriegsmarine but with a Bismarck turret? 

Surprisingly, Drachinifel did his Rum Ration this past week on HMS X.1, which, other than the diesels, was actually a decent cruiser submarine.
